Christmas Gravy

This simple recipe for savory gravy will go great as a side dish for your Christmas dinner!

A side dish that can never be missing on the table during the Christmas dinner is christmas gravy!


  • 1 onion
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • ½ cube of chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons shoyu
  • 1½ cups water
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • Olive oil (enough)
  • Garlic powder to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Salt to taste


  1. To prepare this gravy for Christmas turkey, start by browning the onion and garlic in a pan with hot olive oil and butter.
  2. Next, dissolve the chicken stock in water and add to the pan.
  3. Also dissolve the cornstarch and the shoyu in half a cup of water.
  4. Bring to the boil, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
  5. When the Christmas turkey gravy thickens, turn off the heat and add the mustard.
  6. Season with black pepper, garlic powder and salt to taste.
  7. Put the Christmas turkey gravy in a gravy boat or other container and serve it with the cooked bird!
