Chocolate Cake for Christmas

Who doesn’t love chocolate cake, right? This Christmas, win over your family’s taste buds with this delicious chocolate cake for Christmas!


  • 1½ cups of flour
  • 1½ cups sugar
  • ¾ cup chocolate or cocoa powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup of hot water
  • ½ cup of oil
  • 2 egg units
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • 1½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1½ teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt


  1. Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl: the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl mix together the eggs, milk, oil and vanilla essence.
  3. Slowly add this mixture to the dry ingredients while stirring to prevent lumps from forming.
  4. Without stopping stirring, add the hot water, which helps bring out the cocoa/chocolate flavor of this cake.
  5. Place in a greased and floured baking pan and bake at 180°C for 30-40 minutes.
  6. Remove your chocolate Christmas cake from the oven and let it cool a little before unmolding.
  7. Then decorate as you like!
